Without the help of Rice Lake fisherman Clark Heinsohn last week, these two 18-inch
northerns may have been doomed. On Shell Lake, while fishing, Heinsohn noticed something
splashing on the water surface. He motored up and found the two northerns locked together,
with the mouth of one nearly around the belly of the other. Heinsohn pulled the two fish
apart and they both "swam away fine," he said. Either one northern's eyes
were bigger than its mouth (and stomach), or the two fish were linked during a fight. |
