The Mall of America is about 2 hours and 15 minutes from Rainbow's End Resort, but is well worth the drive if you're looking for a fun day of shopping, a variety of places to eat, and fun at Camp Snoopy or maybe a movie! There's even an acquarium.
From Rainbow's End Resort, take US Highway 53 to state highway 29 west to I-94. Just after entering Minnesota, stop at the rest area. They have lots more information about local happenings, but they also usually have coupons good for savings at the Mall of America Store. That's right, this place is so big, it has a store with Mall memorabilia, T-shirts, and gifts. They can also guide you around Road Construction, which, at least in Minnesota, is the season when it's not Winter!
Stop by the Rainbow's End Resort office for Mall maps (as current as we can get), and the shortcut route for those who like 2-lane roads where you have to look out for the occasional Amish horse drawn carriage.
