Hiking and Biking

Northwestern Wisconsin in the Chetek area is mostly rural, agricultural, and forested. Hiking and biking trails are nearby.
Winter visitors find hundreds of miles of marked snowmobile trails throughout the state. Many of these trails are available for hiking, biking or ATVs in the summer.

About 1.8 miles west of Chetek on County I is the Bill Ohde Nature Walk. Take a walk along grassy fields and pine trees where wildlife can observe the human visitors from a safe distance. Bird houses in tall grass are skirted by mowed pathways for everyone's convenience.
	Part of the 1,000 mile long Ice Age Trail crosses Barron County Highway SS 20 miles north of Chetek. A visitor's center is located a few miles south of Chetek near New Auburn. An elk farm on the way is an interesting drive-by. The beautiful Ice Age Trail includes part of the Tuscobia Trail and Wild Rivers Trail.
